SASSA will be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed concerning the significant quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area each more info day. The company position established for intervention ordeals a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for that Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more sources to allow the servicing of all shoppers and maximize access to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
